If in around town and need to go a few miles then Black cab.
If needing to go home to the leafy suburbs then Uber because they're about half the price.

Flew back into London and got the Heathrow Express to Paddington. Queued up in the black cab line knowing I had no sterling on me, however modern day cabs would take a debit or credit card.
Get to the front, 12 cabs all said no as I did not have cash,
So had to go to the cashpoint because in this modern day, its too much for them.
Live in NYC where UBER has made a massive difference and the Taxis here are having to improve as the competition will drive down their business.
London can learn from Uber.

I cannot lie I do not like Black Cab drivers because they act entitled .
I once remember getting out of my car and asking a Black cab driver very politely if they new where a certain well known road was he said yes i do, he then sat for a few seconds silently before driving off.
I have never forgotten that.

When I take a black cab and they only take cash I deduct 40% from the fare and donate it straight to a local hospital or school.

I'm just deducting their income tax at source, like the rest of the populatiuon. I'm doing them a favour really. There are many cabbies out there that get something like this through their letter box a couple of weeks later
